Small Group Grand tour of leading European countries.

For some 65 days, this small group tour for senior couples or solo travellers, explore and learn the history and culture of Europe on a small group educational tour. Limited to a departure in May or August each year, with 14 likeminded travelers, plus your tour director and a local guide.

This Grand European tour starts in Berlin and heads down to through Central Europe towards Eastern Europe. Travelers typically enjoy multi night stays in the old town of Vienna, Budapest, Prague and Dubrovnik, for example. This escorted tour follows and explores the historic Dalmatian coast, before crossing over to Venice, Genoa, Barcelona, Seville and Lisbon. Rather than being the European grand tour of old that took the grand tourist of 18th century and 19th century to ancient Rome, the Sistine chapel or Venice and the grand canal, this guided tour takes the group away from the regular path of tourists, to the places that have inspired travel writing.

This grand small group tour of Europe from Odyssey Traveller provides travelers with some 30 destinations to explore, over the course of 65 days in some 10 countries. The group explores as part of the tour package:

  • Germany,
  • Austria,
  • Hungary
  • Czech Republic
  • Croatia
  • Italy
  • France
  • Spain
  • Portugal
  • The Netherlands

as it winds its way by coach from central to Eastern Europe and Western Europe.

There is a detailed itinerary that allows for flexibility, as we travel and explore with an occasional walking tour, such as the historic trading routes from ancient Rome that linked Europe to the Middle East to the disagreements between landowners or the art and culture that shaped the expression of culture observed today. This is a travel experience that focuses on authentic experiences supported by a knowledgeable local guide in most destinations, to add knowledge to your journey.

This Grand small group tour of Europe for any traveler, whether as a couple or solo traveler is structured for travelers joining from North America, Australia and New Zealand. Odyssey offers some 30 group tours with a departure typically each month during the key travel season across Europe. Booking conditions have changed as a consequence of Covid.
